Jim joined Megger in November 2017 as CEO and has executive responsibility for the Global Group. Megger is a leading electrical test and measurement organisation with industry leading brands and presence in over 40 countries of the world.
The company has gone through a full strategic review in 2018 and completed its first acquisition in 7 years with the addition of the motor test company, Baker Instrument, based in Colorado.
Previous to Megger, Jim was President of the $1bn Power, Environment & Process Division in Howden (a platform company of Colfax Corporation), where he was trained in the Colfax Business system and worked with the corporate team on several large acquisitions including buying businesses from GE and Siemens.
Prior to joining Howden, Jim spent 12 years in private equity with Clyde Blowers Capital in a number of operating Managing Director roles, and previous to that was a design engineer for offshore gas platforms.
Jim is a Chartered Engineer with a First Class Honours degree in Mechanical Engineering from Strathclyde University, Glasgow and an MBA from Loughborough University.
In 2007 he was recognised for his voluntary work in helping the long term unemployed into sustainable employment by being appointed an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE). In 2013 he was appointed a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering.
